drumMUSTER
drumMUSTER is the National program that has been set up for the collection and recycling of empty, cleaned, non returnable crop production and on-farm animal health.
The national drumMUSTER is the single biggest environmental program ever undertaken jointly by farmers/end chemical users, Local Government and the Crop Production and Animal Health Industries.
Before drumMUSTER began, used chemical containers were untidy eyesores on farms and created mountains of unnecessary rubbish at Council landfill sites.
20,954 drums were recycled in 2008-09.

drumMUSTER: A JOINT EFFORT:
The first full year of operation of the Goondiwindi Regional Council has seen the drumMUSTER Program continue to provide sustainable options for chemical users to recycle empty, clean chemical drums.
The program in the region relies on all participants including resellers, farms, community groups, Council and processors to be involved.
The environment is very important to everyone. Unsustainable and irresponsible farm waste disposal is an increasing issue.
drumMUSTER is the largest rural recycling program in Australia and should be the only choice for drum disposal.
Remember!!! Drums must be: "Residue free with the lids removed"
On Farm Processing:
The majority of drums recycled in the Goondiwindi Regional Council area are baled on farm. Brisbane based processor Steelpas Recycling has been involved now for 3 years.
The best way for on farm storage is in mesh bull rings.
Please ensure drums are free of residue with the lids off.
Steel and plastic drums are all processed. Stains are ok.
