Cross Border Policing Talks with NSW Sought Urgently

Police Minister Jo-Ann Miller and Goondiwindi Mayor Graeme Scheu have announced they will seek urgent talks with the New South Wales Government to finally resolve a number of cross-border policing issues.

Goondiwindi SES Group to be Reactivated

The Goondiwindi SES Group will be officially reactivated at a meeting to be held at the Goondiwindi SES Depot (situated at the Goondiwindi Airport on the Cunningham Highway) on Monday, 14 September 2015 commencing at 6:00pm.

Waste Facility Progressing

Upgrades to the Goondiwindi Waste Facility are starting to take shape as Council secures funding through Royalties for the Regions program. The upgrades include the installation of a weighbridge and improvements to internal roads as part of an ongoing plan to advance waste management practices across the region.

Stage 3 of Redevelopment Project to Commence

Works will commence on the renovation of the Council building on the corner of Bowen and Mclean streets in mid-September, as part of Stage 3 of the Administrative Hub and Arts Cultural Central Precinct Building Redevelopment.

100 Marshall Street Building has been Named

After a number of meetings and community consultation, Council at the Ordinary Meeting held 26 August 2015, endorsed the name ‘Goondiwindi Regional Civic Centre’ for the redevelopment at 100 Marshall Street.

Free Seminar - Diversification Opportunities for Irrigators

Upcoming seminars being held in Goondiwindi and St George on the 15th & 16th of September, for irrigators interested in exploring opportunities to diversify current production systems and capitalise on a range of potential new high value horticulture crops with export market potential. Also learn about the available grant funding for eligible projects to support farm and post farm gate businesses to establish new high value horticultural production in the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin, up to $100,000 available for individual projects.
